Cropping is a trick that photographers do all the time, even if they don't realize it. Every time a photographer chooses to cut something out of his/her frame, before they snap the photo, that is in essence cropping. We also have learned tools on Photoshop that allow us to crop an image after we have taken it. When cropping in Photoshop it is possible to improve our composition or change it completely.
When cropping I cut out about two thirds of my photo and focused on my subject's face only. I personally like the original picture better verses the cropped picture because seeing more than the subject's face makes the picture beautiful in this case because it seems as if the subject is gazing out onto something that is unknown to her. The first way I used the crop tool was to of course cut away some the the original photo and the second way I used it was to create white space in the background so that I could add text.
